ID: Clark Kent/Kal-El (Secret) History:Rocketed from the dying planet Krypton as an infant, Kal-El crashed on Earth. Found and raised by the farmers Jonathan and Martha Kent, Clark (as they named the boy) grew up learning traditional values and how to be an upright citizen. Given the power of a god, it was only the loving care of the Kents that turned young Clark into a paragon of morality and compassion. As he discovered and mastered his powers, Clark realized that he had an obligation to make the world a better place. He also knew he had to protect his identity for the sake of his loved ones, so Clark created the persona of Superman, quickly dubbed "the Man of Steel" by those in awe of his great power. Clark moved to the aptly-named Metropolis, where he took on a disguise as a mild-mannered reporter working for The Daily Planet. There Clark met great friends, including Jimmy Olsen, Perry White and the firecracker reporter Lois Lane. Clark fell in love with Lois, and in time she came to love him back, sharing the burden of his secret as they tackled the latest scoops together in the way only they could. Personality:Sometimes called by others "the Big Blue Boy Scout," Superman is a paragon in the most important way: he has not let power corrupt him. Clark represents the best in humanity, somewhat ironically considering that he is an alien. He always stands up for what he feels his right, and would even without his powers. He looks for the best in everyone and demands it from himself. Clark will never stop fighting for his beliefs, which fortunately include the belief that everyone can rise above negative influences and be "super" in the way that really counts. Abilities and Resources:Faster than a speeding bullet, more powerful than a locomotive, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound ... all these things don't even come close to describing Superman's power. He can move at many times supersonic speeds, fly through space (enduring the vacuum or great pressures without harm), withstand punishment that would level cities, and has the power to throw battleships. Superman has incredible senses, able to hear people from miles away, see across vast distances, and pinpoint those most in need of his rescue.
