Milestones:BECOME THE GAME MASTERYou are destined to become the prophesied hero of Videoland. Well, we all hope
, anyway. If not, guess we just press the Reset button and try again!1 XP when you meet a new character in Videoland.
3 XP when you win a boss battle, foiling the plots of Mother Brain, or venture to a new game world through the Warp Zone.
10 XP when you lead the N Team and vanquish Mother Brain, or when the Palace of Power is conquered despite your efforts.
RACKING UP ACHIEVEMENTSYou're always trying to improve your skills as a gamer... especially since here they translate into actual abilities. The better the gamer you can be, the greater the hero Captain N will become.1 XP when you use your gamer powers to show off in a new way.
3 XP when you accomplish a new feat of gamer prowess, or when you use cheats to persevere and the N Team finds out.
10 XP when you conquer a game world you couldn't in the past (without using cheats!), or when you give up and try an easier difficulty instead.
ID: Kevin Keene (Public)
History:Kevin Keene was just your average high school student (well, mostly). He was a Varsity member of the swim team and an avid Nintendo gamer. Maybe a little
too avid, because one day the Ultimate Warp Zone formed in his TV and transported Kevin and his dog Duke to another dimension: Videoland. It is a universe comprised of worlds drawn from Nintendo games, full of familiar characters... and dangers. Kevin quickly found himself drawn into a struggle for the Palace of Power, from which the royal family of Videoland rules.
Evil Mother Brain and her villainous allies, among them Dracula, Doctor Wily and mighty King Hippo, seek to conquer all of Videoland. Now Kevin must fulfill the prophecy of the Game Master, helping to liberate Videoland from its would-be conquerors. Kevin is a reluctant hero at best, and his allies have little more faith in him than he has in himself. Only time will tell if he can become the Game Master and free Videoland from the grip of terror!
Personality:Kevin is a typical high school student and a gamer: he's brash, he's hard-headed and he's sure of his ability. Unfortunately, none of his allies on the N Team are so sure. Kevin's a good guy, though, and he will help out those who need it, even if he doesn't feel he can win some war for Videoland. He has a bit of a cocky attitude at times, particularly when dealing with denizens of game worlds he's beaten back in his universe.
Abilities and Resources:Kevin's a good swimmer, but he's a better gamer. Largely, though, he's no action hero: he's a high school student and he doesn't have any special powers himself. Fortunately for him, he came to Videoland armed with the NES controller and a Zapper. In his world, they are merely accessories for playing games. In Videoland, they are powerful artifacts capable of turning the tide in Kevin's favor. The NES controller (which he wears as a belt buckle) can pause time, help him run at great speed or leap like Mario. The Zapper is a powerful energy gun, capable of "de-digitizing" enemies with some rapid-fire, screen-flashing action.
